We do the work.

JCI New York is a member-led civic think tank of young professionals. We research what the city needs, then build it. One local chapter of a network in 100+ countries.

JCI New York

A think tank that gets its hands dirty.

Plenty of groups in this city study problems. Fewer finish the job. We write the brief, find the partners, recruit the volunteers and run the pilot.

JCI New York is led by its members, all of them between 18 and 40, from all five boroughs. Our members chair committees, manage budgets, publish research and represent the city abroad. They learn leadership the only way it sticks: by being responsible for something real.

Since [YYYY] we have delivered [XX] community projects, published [XX] policy papers and sent [XX] delegates to World Congress.

JCI Global

100+ countries.
One network.

JCI is a worldwide network of young active citizens. It holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), so our members have a seat in the rooms where global goals get argued over.

Every JCI New York member belongs to the whole network. Your project can scale, your ideas can travel and your next collaborator might be in Lagos, Seoul or São Paulo.

    Represent the US at JCI World Congress and speak at UN side events.

Mission, vision and values

What we're here for.

Mission

To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.

Vision

To be the leading global network of young active citizens.

How we work.

  • Action first

    A good idea is a draft until somebody ships it. We start small, test fast and publish what we learn.

  • Member-led

    Our members decide, deliver and own the results. Leadership here is a job, not a title.

  • Open to all New Yorkers

    Five boroughs, every background, every industry. If you're 18–40 and willing to do the work, you belong.

  • Accountable

    We publish our budgets, outcomes and misses. If a project didn't work, we say so and fix it.

Our creed.

The statement of belief that members of JCI share around the world.

We believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
